EGGA’s Contribution to the European Commission’s Consultation on the Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework
As part of our commitment to supporting Europe’s green transition and strengthening the EU’s clean technology manufacturing base, EGGA has responded to the European Commission’s consultation on the draft Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF), which is expected to be adopted by June 2025.
We welcome the Commission’s initiative to simplify State aid rules to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy, support industrial decarbonisation, and ensure sufficient manufacturing capacity of clean technologies within the EU.
This consultation offers a crucial opportunity for industry stakeholders to help shape a framework that will play a key role in delivering the objectives of the Clean Industrial Deal and the Net-Zero Industry Act. We emphasize that while the framework should align with the Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA), it should not be limited by it. CISAF must remain flexible to support a wider range of clean tech manufacturing components, including important items not covered by the NZIA, ensuring comprehensive support for the sector.
EGGA’s response reflects the priorities and concerns of our sector, particularly highlighting the importance of durability and sustainability, fair access for SMEs, resilience of the European manufacturing base, and effective support for electrification and self-production of renewable energy.
