EGGA warns against use of salt spray testing results

Despite clear guidance in international standards against the use of accelerated laboratory testing as a way to compare or predict the corrosion performance of different metallic coatings for steel, the results from these tests continue to be used to promote certain types of coating to unsuspecting users. EGGA has published a fact sheet to remind users and specifiers of protective coatings of the weaknesses of such test results and the misleading information they can provide.
