Galvanized Steel and Sustainable Construction: Solutions for a Circular Economy

EGGA has launched a new publication - ‘Galvanized Steel and Sustainable Construction: Solutions for a Circular Economy’ to explain the contribution that galvanized steel can make to achieving the goals of circular construction – combining durability, robustness, reuse and recycling to ensure that steel structures can be designed for multiple life cycles without need for maintenance.

Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

The European General Galvanizers Association has published an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for ‘Batch Hot Dip Galvanizing of Steel Products to EN ISO 1461 – European Average’.

The EPD has been generated under the International EPD System® based on Product Category Rules for Corrosion Protection of Fabricated Steel Products and is independently third-party verified in accordance with ISO 14025:2010 and EN 15804.

Galvanizing and Sustainable Construction: A Specifiers Guide

EGGA has collaborated with Professor Tom Woolley – a well-known architect and environmental researcher – to publish ‘Galvanizing and Sustainable Construction: A Specifiers Guide’. This comprehensive book explains the economic, social and environmental aspects of batch galvanizing in the context of sustainable building.  The publication is also available in other European languages.
